SINGAPORE YOUTH DELEGATION TO SWITZERLAND 25 May - 7 JUNE '99 |

Led by Miss Wong Sing Chee, eleven youths from local universities, polytechnics and junior colleges participated in the Singapore-Switzerland Bi-lateral Youth Exchange Programme organised by NYAA Council from 25 May to 7 June 1999. During their visit, they visited chemical giants such as Lonza and Wander Ag. They also had the opportunity to study the educational and apprenticeship system. Exposed to a 3 day home stay with local Swiss families, they picked up much exposure on Swiss traditions, food and culture. The youths
also called on Swiss Vice President and Defence Minister, H.E Adolf
Ogi and Minister of Education of St Gallen, H.E Ulrich Stockling. During
the meeting, they were briefed on the Swiss Political system by the
