The Swiss Youth Delegation was met and welcomed by participants of the Singapore - Switzerland Youth Exchange Programme when they arrived at Changi Airport on 20 June 1996. The visitors were transferred to the National Community Leadership Institute where they stayed for four nights before moving to the People's Association chalets at Pasir Ris. 

During their visit, the Swiss Youth Delegation attended the opening of the Swiss highlights, welcome dinner, visit local schools, community clubs,Town Council and Swiss companies in Singapore. They also witnessed a 'meet-the-people' session conducted by Mr Teo Chong Tee, Member of Parliament for Changi. 

The Swiss youths also participated in a canoeing expedition to Coney Island, an offshore island in the northeast of Singapore.

On 29 June, the last day of their programme, the youths attended the "World in Sight Appeal" Concert and witnessed the opening of the National Youth Centre and Youth Park by Singapore's Prime Minister, Mr Goh Chok Tong. The Swiss youth had the opportunity to meet and speak with Prime Minister Goh.
